Mobile Coverage

The Telstra network is available in Julia Creek, and a Telstra Tower is in McKinlay, servicing a 20km radius of the town. Mobile reception at Kynuna and Nelia is limited. Service availability may also fluctuate for different brands of mobile phones, with Samsung and HTC phones appearing to get better reception.

If you have a smart phone and it is set to 4G, go to your settings and change it to ‘automatically select’ the network available. Also, disable ‘Roaming’ on your phone to prevent your phones battery level dropping considerably.
